Kearney breaks course record at Sandshark

Beaufort, S.C. – Pacing past the competition Emily Kearney led the Bees at the Sand Shark Invitational over the weekend. Kearney’s course-record-setting mark of 17:05 was enough for overall first place in a field of 222 runners from across the NAIA. She also was named Appalachian Athletic Conference Runner of the Week. Strong showings from the rest of the team helped push them into 2nd place overall. Junior Maddie Mullenplaced 8th overall in a time of 18:36, and Freshman Katie Gerrard posted 18:39 to take 10th.

It was yet another impressive performance from a Bee’s team currently ranked #9 in the nation in the coaches’ polls. “With thousands of runners running the Sand Shark course over the past years, Emily’s new record is a direct reflection of the dedication and commitment she enforces when it comes to her running,” commented Coach Caldwell.
